About Me

Hey there! I’m Anna Roots, a mental health counselor with a passion for supporting Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD folks.  As someone with ADHD, I love diving into new hobbies. This year, I’ve gotten into whitewater kayaking, karaoke, embroidery, and weight lifting. These interests add depth to my therapy approach, balancing work with personal passions and family life. I use my varied personal experiences  to help guide you on your journey to self-understanding and empowerment.

I’m a Professional Counselor Associate in Oregon, formerly a Licensed Oregon School Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. With over ten years in mental health settings, schools, and advocacy, I bring a lot of experience to the table. I got my Master’s in Counseling from Oregon State University and have been dedicated to mental health since 2009. My therapy style is creative and personalized, ensuring your journey is as unique as you are. Let’s work together to create a space where growth, understanding, and resilience thrive.

Inclusive Practice

Inclusivity is super important to me. I value diverse experiences and backgrounds, including those from the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and kink communities. My practice is a safe, respectful space for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression. We celebrate diversity and advocate for being authentic in identity and intimacy.

Accessibility for All Abilities

I make it a priority to ensure my practice is accessible for people with different abilities. Whether it’s physical, cognitive, or emotional accessibility, I’m here to meet your unique needs.

Acknowledgment of Indigenous Lands

I acknowledge that I live and work on the traditional lands of the Multnomah, Clackamas, and other Chinook tribes who have stewarded this land for generations. I recognize their enduring connection to this place and honor their history, culture, and contributions. As a white person, I am committed to learning more about the histories and rights of Indigenous peoples and working towards a more just and equitable future.

Committed to Growth

Your feedback means the world to me. I’m always learning and improving to make sure my approach is inclusive and affirming for everyone.
